1st Saturday Raku with Jon Salazar is BACK!!!

Every First Saturday from 2-6PM

Join us at Jane’s Art Center for an unforgettable Raku firing with guest potter Jon Salazar. This high-energy, hands-on workshop introduces you to the exciting Raku process, where glowing red-hot pottery is removed from the kiln and placed into combustible materials to create bold, unpredictable surface effects.

Participants will learn a brief history of Raku, apply in-house glazes, and take part in the firing and reduction process. Finished pieces will be ready to take home the same day.

What to bring: Up to 5 bisque-fired pieces (B-mix with grog or Raku clay recommended) Ideal size: under 6 inches

Safety: Long pants, cotton clothing, and closed-toe shoes are required. Expect heat, smoke, and open flames.

CANCELLATION POLICY

At The Hub on Canal, we strive to offer the best experience for all participants. Please carefully review our cancellation policy below, as there are no exceptions:

• Cancellation and Rescheduling: Due to limited seating, cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 7 days prior to the class start date for a full refund, minus a $25 booking fee. This allows us the opportunity to fill your spot. Cancellations made within 7 days of the class will be refunded at 50% of the class cost, or you may choose a 50% credit toward a future class. If you cancel within 24 hours of the class, no refund will be issued, and 100% of the class cost will be charged.

• No-Shows: Participants who do not attend their class without notifying us in advance will be charged the full amount for the class.

• Cancellation Confirmation: All cancellations must be confirmed by the Education Program Manager. If you have any questions or need further clarification regarding this policy, please contact us via phone or email at ashley.hess@janesartcenter.org

• Class Cancellations by The Hub on Canal: In the event a class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, participants will be notified at least 24 hours in advance. A full refund will be provided for any canceled class.
