- ➤ Matanzas High School had its ribbon cutting on Tuesday for a $23 million expansion that added 20,000 square feet with four new classrooms and a media center — the project also includes a new trade workshop area and was funded by a half-cent sales tax that passed with 36,235 votes in favor and 16,301 against. - ➤ The Volusia County School Board ended its long-running contract with Florida Health Care Plan and signed a $153M, three-year deal with Texas-based Curative, which offers no premiums, copays, or deductibles if employees complete a baseline visit within 120 days. The district will begin transitioning employees with open enrollment from July 21 to August 15 and plan changes taking effect Oct. 1—affecting teachers, staff, and other employees.
