Approximately 200 Florida athletes will head to Minneapolis for the Special Olympics USA Games from June 20 to 26, with Orlando’s Jacob Craft returning to compete after winning gold in 2022 (he calls his volleyball team family).

Daytona State College received national recognition on Wednesday when the National Council on Teacher Quality awarded an A+ to its undergraduate Elementary Education program. The rating evaluated key reading skills (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension) and confirmed that the program exceeds research-based standards.

Amazon opened its new pre-first mile facility in Deltona on June 11 (serving over 500 full-time workers) and announced plans for another distribution center in the area in fall 2027.
