- ➤ A Daytona Beach man was found guilty on Wednesday of first-degree murder and aggravated assault in the 2023 shooting death of his wife at their Fulton Street home—he shot her in front of her parents during an argument and later shot himself—and he will be sentenced to mandatory life in prison. - ➤ Daytona Beach commissioners approved an extra $1.2 million on June 4 for a delayed U.S. Army Corps flood study—aimed at addressing flood risks in Midtown and Fairway Estates—and the final report is now set for June 2027.
