- ➤ Volusia County Veterans Services partnered with the U.S. Veterans Administration at three SURGE events in DeLand and Daytona Beach to help 17 homeless veterans get housing, healthcare, and mental health support — the staff also finished suicide prevention training and became a certified Veterans Safe Place to offer crisis help. - ➤ Port Orange Police Department received an FDOT grant in partnership with the University of North Florida to launch a project aimed at reducing serious injuries among pedestrians and bicyclists.
