- ➤ Daytona Beach will host the 33rd annual Biketoberfest from Oct. 16 to Oct. 19, drawing about 100,000 motorcycle fans, and a 'No Kings' protest on Oct. 18 at City Hall that is expected to attract around 3,000 demonstrators—city officials and protest organizers said both events will proceed peacefully. - ➤ Marineland Dolphin Adventure was sold on October 13th for $7.1M at auction to Delightful Development LLC—this sale outbid Hutson Companies for the iconic park on N. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet is caring for 100 stranded baby sea turtles—some as small as the palm of a hand—after offshore storms and high tides pushed sargassum onto local beaches during seaweed season. The center will keep the underweight and dehydrated turtles for a few weeks before transporting them to South Florida for release. WESH

- ➤ Since its voter approval in 2000, Volusia County's ECHO program has spent $117 million on 304 projects that improve the environment, culture, history (and outdoor recreation) while county officials will review a new strategic plan on October 21 to address audit findings and calls for a clearer vision.
