- ➤ The Arc of Volusia is holding a Holiday Ornament Fundraiser that sells ornaments for $10 or $25 for three to raise funds for a new van to support transportation for daily programs. - ➤ Forty-one dogs are receiving care at Halifax Humane Society after being rescued from an animal hoarder in Volusia County, and veterinary checks on Wednesday night showed many were malnourished, had flea infestations and skin infections—each now has soft beds and nourishing food as they start their recovery. - ➤ West Volusia community events include the DeLand House Christmas Candlelight Tour today and a pancake breakfast on Sunday, with local history talks, guided hikes and a campus walking tour planned later in the week—while two boat ramps remain closed due to high water hazards. Hometown News

- ➤ The Volusia County Council approved a new dog-friendly beach area in Daytona Beach on Nov. 4 that will welcome dogs on a 1.7-mile stretch between Williams Avenue and Seabreeze Boulevard starting Dec. 1. - ➤ The Cristy B Comedy Club has received final approval to open on South Beach Street and may start operating this month—City Commissioners also discussed plans to demolish the long-vacant Orange Avenue Recreation Center and to preserve historic landmarks like Fire Station No.1 while reviewing funding for Jackie Robinson Ballpark renovations.
