- ➤ On Thursday, Jan. 1, residents took a polar plunge at Flagler Beach to ring in the New Year by braving 60-degree water (a refreshing start to 2026). The Daytona Beach News-Journal
- ➤ Deleon Dunk took place at Deleon Springs State Park on New Year's Day, where about 100 jumpers participated between 7 and 8 a.m. Ticketed participants enjoyed an early jump (with pancake treats from Old Sugar Mill) while others joined later with open entry, all splashing in 72-degree water.
