- ➤ Volusia County Mosquito Control Division will host a free tire disposal drive-thru event for residents to drop off up to 20 residential tires from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24 at the Volusia County Fairgrounds in DeLand — an effort to reduce mosquito breeding. Hometown News

- ➤ VoTran has launched an Uber-powered ride option (backed by a $450K grant) that offers Transportation Disadvantaged trips of up to 15 miles at $3.50 per way. The pilot runs through the end of June in Volusia County with rides requested via VoTran's mobile app or phone. Hometown News
