- ➤ A brush fire burned 63 acres in Volusia County on Tuesday, Feb. 10 and forced the closure of State Road 40 east of U.S. Highway 17, leading to temporary evacuations while crews from the Florida Forest Service remained on scene & monitored hotspots. FOX 35 Orlando

- ➤ Embry-Riddle student Sola Nova led a research project on how fast-spinning Be stars lose their gas disks and her paper was accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journal yesterday (work conducted at Prescott Campus Observatory).
