- ➤ Gas prices in Daytona Beach have steadily risen in the wake of the Iran war that began earlier this month. AAA reported that on March 5, regular gas averaged $3.268 per gallon (up from $2.893 on March 1) as seasonal shifts add to global pressures. The Daytona Beach News-Journal

- ➤ The Marine Discovery Center led a Winter Bird Tour in January from New Smyrna Beach to Disappearing Island where guests spotted 40 bird species (novices learned tips from veteran birders). Future tours are scheduled for March 18 and April 15. The Daytona Beach News-Journal
