On March 9, a harbor seal visited a sandbar near Ponce Inlet in New Smyrna Beach and quickly swam back before rescuers could intervene.

Officials said TSA wait times at Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) were under 10 minutes on March 9 while Orlando International Airport (MCO) saw waits from 12 to 59 minutes on March 12.
Travelers should check flights with third-party sites since MyTSA and TSA trackers are down during the shutdown.
