- ➤ On Thursday night, just before 8:30 p.m., a head-on collision occurred on Charles R. Beall Boulevard near Plantation Boulevard when an SUV turned left and cut across the path of a southbound motorcyclist from DeBary, killing the 54-year-old at the scene—his passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the 76-year-old SUV driver was uninjured. - ➤ Volusia County deputies posted no trespassing signs and told residents to leave a homeless camp on International Speedway Boulevard—Stone Street after a DeLand man attempted to kill a resident on March 15 by beating him with a stick, and authorities work with property owners to clear the site.
