- ➤ Volusia County Council will vote Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. in DeLand chambers—on a plan to spend over $4.6 million from Volusia ECHO and Volusia Forever funds to buy 356 acres on State Road 44 for a public motocross facility and wetland conservation area near the gun and hunt club. The county looked at a site on Tomoka Farms Road but faced pushback from residents over noise, which led councilman Don Dempsey to support this option. The Daytona Beach News-Journal
