- ➤ The Volusia Sheriff's Office arrested 32-year-old Daytona Beach resident Trevin Smith after evidence linked him to a fentanyl sale that led to a 35-year-old Ormond Beach woman's overdose death on Wednesday morning—bodycam footage showed him trying to flee from a 7-Eleven where he discarded his cell phone and a small bag of fentanyl before being caught. - ➤ On April 25, Embry-Riddle students in Daytona Beach presented a record 211 research projects by 535 students—Juksana Mai Ngam won Best Graduate Research Poster for her study on a biometric vehicle system.
