- ➤ On Sunday near New Smyrna Beach, a 33-year-old man was stabbed 11 times during a fight at a homeless camp—Volusia County deputies arrested 27-year-old Corey Cotton for aggravated battery while the victim was airlifted to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach in critical but stable condition. - ➤ Corey Cotton (27) was arrested at the scene on Sunday evening in New Smyrna Beach after he allegedly stabbed a 33-year-old man 11 times near the intersection of Findley Street and Old Mission Road in a transient camp, and officers found a blood-soaked folding knife on him while the victim was taken to hospital and is expected to recover.
