- ➤ Residents in Volusia and Flagler counties will mark Memorial Day on Monday by attending ceremonies that honor fallen service members. - ➤ Volusia County Schools switched from Florida Health Care Plans to the Texas startup Curative led by 30-year-old Fred Turner after a nearly four-month review and a May 13 vote yielded a $153 million contract for a plan with no copays and no deductibles — the new coverage will begin Oct. 1 with care navigators assigned to help employees during the transition.
