  • An Amtrak Auto Train traveling southbound along U.S. 17 hit a large tree that fell on the tracks near Nolan Road Wednesday morning and sustained heavy damage—no injuries were reported and emergency teams quickly returned to service.  The Daytona Beach News-Journal

CRIME NEWS

  • Deputies responded to a reported shooting on Monday night near Tomoka Woods Parkway in DeLeon Springs, finding a 52-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound after a domestic dispute— the Volusia Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.  FOX 35 Orlando
