- ➤ Angie Gonzalez opened Revive Salt Lounge in Daytona Beach Shores on June 3 to provide yoga, salt therapy and infrared sauna treatment in honor of her late mother who suffered from lung problems. - ➤ Researchers at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach are testing bubbly water to reduce the loud noise of fighter jets taking off. The project—funded by the Office of Naval Research—will have the team work with Virginia Tech to see if water curtains can cut the noise without changing engine designs. Hometown News

- ➤ City commissioners purchased a half-acre oceanfront lot for $2.2 million on June 18 to gain control of the beach area and move forward with extending the Boardwalk—helping support plans for a new Señor Frog’s restaurant and a potential boutique hotel.
