- ➤ Body-camera video released Monday shows deputies on Saturday night responded to a stabbing incident on Derbyshire Road near Daytona Beach and encountered 18-year-old suspect Landon Watson—who charged at an officer with a dagger before being fatally shot—as officers from multiple departments secured the scene. - ➤ On Saturday near 1402 Derbyshire Road in the San Juan Acres neighborhood, law enforcement shot and killed Landon Watson after he charged at officers wielding a large knife during a 9:30 p.m. response to a Daytona Beach stabbing—two victims were hospitalized in stable condition and no officers were injured. - ➤ A puppy was rescued Sunday morning from a trash compactor at a Daytona Beach apartment complex by residents Brandon and Heather Arroyo who used Brandon's training from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to pull the black mixed-breed dog to safety—police are investigating the incident without yet naming any suspects.
