- ➤ Amazon is accepting applications for more than 1,000 jobs at its new fulfillment center on 2519 Bellevue Ave in Daytona Beach, with operations planned to start between July 23 and Aug. 23. Employees will earn starting wages of $19 per hour, receive full benefits from day one, and the company has partnered with Daytona State College for career opportunities — a ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for August. - ➤ A Volusia County woman was attacked by two dogs on June 20 while delivering food to an Ormond Beach home and was bitten on her hand, arm, and leg — she underwent multiple surgeries — as Animal Services holds the dogs while their owners plan to meet strict requirements. FOX 35 Orlando
- ➤ On June 20, 55-year-old Ormond Beach grandmother Fran Williams was attacked by dogs while delivering a food order, needed blood transfusions and five hours of surgery, and Volusia County Animal Services seized the dogs—with a hearing set next week to decide if they will remain classified as dangerous.
