Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, a 175-foot beacon built in 1887, stands as a cherished landmark along the Atlantic coast and the Preservation Association offers monthly full moon tours for visitors to enjoy sweeping views of the Halifax River and Atlantic.

City leaders are voting Wednesday to expand the water fixture rebate program to cover faucets and showerheads as well as toilets, increasing rebates to $100 + $30 per fixture.

The program, run in Daytona Beach with support from the St. Johns River Water Management District, will help residents save on water bills.

On July 8, Edgewater city council approved regulated chicken ownership and declared the Kennedy Boat Ramp wishing well a historic landmark.

The local DAR chapter will restore the well (including a new bucket, bench and plaque) with dedication planned in September.
