AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach awarded $6,000 in scholarships to nine local recipients — eight students and one aspiring firefighter in the fourth annual Ethan Wilson Memorial Scholarships honoring a local firefighter who died in 2023.
The program supports future caregivers and first responders.

New Smyrna Beach approved switching to Volusia County’s one-pass parking system for beach lots set to take effect Jan.
1, 2027 pending county approval. City officials say the change will simplify parking and reduce confusion — though it may lower revenue by about $17,000 a year.
