- ➤ The Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet released three rehabilitated pelicans into the wild on Monday at 10:30 a.m.—the birds were treated for injuries from fishing hooks. Residents were invited to attend the event by gathering in the parking lot and walking to Lighthouse Point Park. WNDB
- ➤ Yesterday, Central Florida saw heat advisories from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. as feels-like temperatures reached 112 degrees and scattered showers and storms developed—afterward, a weak front moved in to lower high temperatures to average while more rain and storms are forecast for the week ahead. - ➤ Volusia County leaders will unveil a $1.7 billion budget proposal today that invests $1.2 million in operational support for SunRail+ and nearly $134 million in federal disaster recovery funds along with additional investments in housing, judicial upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
