- ➤ Since early June, Volusia County deputies increased patrols on U.S. 17, State Road 11 and State Road 40 after a series of deadly crashes—including one that claimed a deputy’s daughter—and have since issued 117 tickets, 28 warnings and 11 criminal citations while promising to keep patrolling until road conditions improve. - ➤ Ronnie Kersey, 52, is wanted for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after he pepper-sprayed & stabbed another man at 1200 Valencia Ave on July 30, leaving the victim with injuries to an arm and a finger; authorities ask anyone with information to call 386-248-1777 or 911 in an emergency.
