- ➤ A Volusia County man, Douglas Brown (25), was arrested on Aug. 7 near Mile Marker 274 on Interstate 95 after his blue sport motorcycle was seen speeding over 120 mph (7:54 a.m.), and he now faces a $500 bond under Florida's Super Speeder law. FOX 35 Orlando

- ➤ Volusia County Councilman Jake Johansson is accused of improperly voting against Charter Review Committee applicant Jason Voelz on Tuesday because Voelz is his political opponent in the District 8 state Senate race—Voelz said Johansson should have stepped aside. WNDB
- ➤ Volusia County is moving ahead with plans for a 350-acre motocross facility off State Road 44 that will offer tracks, RV parking and event space—using $3.5 million in ECHO funds while facing pushback from local residents and environmental groups. County officials are seeking a partner to manage the facility and will hire a consultant to present partnership models by December. News 6

- ➤ The Florida Department of Health cited Keely Farms Dairy in New Smyrna Beach as the source of raw milk that sickened 21 people due to concerns over its sanitation practices.
