Good morning, Daytona Beach.

Authorities have issued a Florida Silver Alert for 83-year-old Herme Council—reported missing from DeBary since Saturday and last seen near the 900 block of S Charles Richard Beall Boulevard while driving a white 2004 Toyota Camry with Florida tag 6427YG—and officials urge anyone with information to call FDLE, the Volusia Sheriff's Office or 911.

Last year, Floridians lost nearly $93 million to romance scams—one local woman lost over $60,000 in six weeks after being deceived by an online figure claiming to be an army officer, and the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said an arrest may be pending in her case.

Hurricane Erin briefly reached Category 5 early Saturday before weakening to Category 3 during an eyewall replacement cycle in the Atlantic, forecasters said.

It will remain a major storm as it moves up the East Coast, and Florida's east coast is expected to see dangerous waves and rip currents from Sunday through Wednesday.
