- ➤ David Baker, 42, was convicted of violently raping a woman at gunpoint outside a Motel 6 on West International Speedway Boulevard in 2024—he will be sentenced later as a habitual felony offender. The Daytona Beach News-Journal

- ➤ Daytona International Speedway and Welcome To Rockville signed a new 10-year agreement—extending the rock and metal festival until 2035. The festival, set for May 7-10 next year, is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of fans from across the nation and the globe. News 6
