- ➤ Yesterday, AAA brought together the injured boy's mother, a pediatric surgeon, a UCF police commander and transportation officials at UCF's Emergency Operations Center at 10 a.m. to review electric bike safety after a 14-year-old boy was seriously injured on Howland Boulevard in Deltona—AAA will launch its Safe Streets for Small Wheels campaign statewide to improve helmet use and rider visibility. - ➤ An 11-year-old boy playing video games at home was struck on Aug. 27 by a bullet that pierced his bedroom wall in a home near Bunnell; Flagler County Sheriff’s deputy Bryan Jackson and his trainee daughter Kailen were target practicing on his property—officials said the bullet likely ricocheted—while the sheriff's office investigates the incident.
