- ➤ Today, Boeing opened its new engineering center at Embry-Riddle Research Park in Daytona Beach to work on defense programs and create about 400 jobs. The 65,000 square-foot facility will support research and design — Boeing will also invest $100,000 in local STEM and food programs — to strengthen ties in the community. - ➤ Dr. Ted Kaplan of Edgewater Pediatrics warned that Central Florida may face a shortage of pediatricians as vaccine policy changes could reduce the number of doctors available—Orange, Osceola, and Sumter counties already show wide disparities in specialist counts. He advised parents to discuss any vaccine concerns with their pediatricians to ensure children receive proper care. News 6

- ➤ Daytona Beach will host Biketoberfest 2025, a four-day motorcycle rally from Oct. 16-19 expected to attract about 100,000 fans along Main Street and in nearby counties.
