- ➤ Flagler County government announced on September 16 that it has named Tywan Arrington as its new economic development manager—he will succeed Dolores Key following her retirement. Arrington, who previously worked as director of business development for Team Volusia EDC and serves on the United Way board, holds a master’s degree in economic development. WNDB
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Officer David Jewell, an off-duty Edgewater police officer who was fatally shot Monday in Ormond-by-the-Sea, was honored by the community as flowers and kind words were left at his cruiser outside the police department—Eduardo Machado, the accused, remains in jail without bond. WESH

- ➤ The Daytona Beach area is hosting many festivals this fall as visitors and locals will enjoy music, art and cultural events — including the Ormond Beach Live Original Music & Art Festival on September 27, Biketoberfest® from October 16–19, Halifax Art Festival on November 1–2, Greek Festival on November 13–16, Riverfest Seafood Festival on November 15–16, Fall Festival of the Arts on November 22–23 and Daytona Turkey Run on November 27–30.
