  • ➤ Rough surf and dangerous rip currents swept through Daytona Beach on Sunday, and officials said red flag warnings will stay in effect throughout this week. Beachgoers must stay near lifeguard towers—swimming only in shallow areas to avoid turbulent water.  WESH

  • ➤ Flagler Schools paraprofessional Suzanne Carter won the Outstanding Achievement by a Paraprofessional Award for her work with visually impaired student Maverick Fitzgerald at Old Kings Elementary — she will receive her award in November.  The Daytona Beach News-Journal
