Good morning, Daytona Beach. Here's your local news at a glance for Saturday, the 25th of October.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Bandit—a calm 3-year-old stray dog with blue and brown eyes—is looking for a home at Halifax Humane Society on LPGA Boulevard in Daytona Beach and would be a good fit for a family that likes to be active; interested adopters should call 386-274-4703 before his graduation on November 5.  WESH
  • Ponce Inlet's Marine Science Center announced it will hold its 2025 Wildlife Festival on November 1st from late morning to early afternoon with free admission — featuring live animal presentations and interactive activities for all ages. The festival will offer a presentation on gopher tortoises and other animals — and a free shuttle service will run from Winter Haven Park if parking fills near the center.  WNDB
  • Volunteers from Fix It Forward, led by Ed Rosa — the nonprofit founder — held a mobile repair event at the West Volusia Dream Center to fix about a dozen cars for low-income drivers and homeless people. The event, which addressed repeated battery issues on vehicles like Zamara Stalter's 2004 Chrysler Sebring, helped improve safety for those living paycheck to paycheck.  News 6
