Nonprofits in Volusia-Flagler are asking residents to donate to food banks as SNAP benefits pause due to a federal shutdown—about 75,000 local residents will face hardship.

Greg Higgerson from Second Harvest Food Bank said donations and support from local officials are needed to help fill the gap.
