- ➤ FBH Community has helped the Shaffer family by providing healthy food choices and after-school activities as they face job loss and health challenges after a car accident and upcoming surgeries. The nonprofit supports over 700 local children with food and learning programs. The Daytona Beach News-Journal
- ➤ Manuel Benavides, a 4th grader at Palm Terrace Elementary, gained confidence after leaving the ESOL program with help from friend Emerson and his teachers. He was selected for FBHonors at the Lemerand Center of Excellence to boost his progress. The Daytona Beach News-Journal

- ➤ Orlando-based Gissy Family Investments closed the purchase of the 500-ft pier in Daytona Beach Shores in November and has already started investing $1 million to restore it & add new food and retail options while Crabby Joe’s stays open. The Daytona Beach News-Journal

- ➤ City leaders plan to lease Daytona Beach’s historic Fire Station No. 1 as a restaurant, and proposals must be submitted by 3 p.m. Feb. 10 (2026). Firefighters will move to a new station on Ridgewood Avenue next year, keeping the building’s exterior intact. WESH
