- ➤ A Daytona Beach woman and her Lake Mary boyfriend were arrested on Thursday and remain in jail without bail on charges of repeatedly sexually abusing a 7-year-old child over two years — police said investigators removed the victim from her home on Jan. 28 to protect her from further harm. - ➤ Debbie Darino of Port Orange, known for her work on animal welfare laws including Ponce's Law, was honored as a Florida Hero on March 28 in Tallahassee.
