Good morning, Daytona Beach.

Daytona Beach residents have formed a nonprofit to restore Pinewood Cemetery off Main Street by cleaning up overgrown areas, fixing broken benches, and researching the history behind over 1,700 burials since 1887.

The group will add historical signage and hold ghost tours for events like Fourth of July 2026 — giving locals a new way to connect with the city’s past.

Edgewater officer Daniel Rippeon arrested 22-year-old Paul Wert on May 10 just after 10 p.m. outside a closed CVS for allegedly resisting an officer without violence—body camera footage later prompted charges to be dropped on June 4, and Rippeon was placed on administrative leave before he resigned on June 5.

Two couples in Volusia County filed a lawsuit against Lennar Homes, alleging that a flawed stormwater system turned their Vineland Reserve properties into flood zones.

The 13‐page complaint (filed June 11 in Circuit Court) claims the builder ignored repeated concerns and left homes with ongoing water damage.
